A Simple Life, A Simple Day

I enjoyed today so much. I asked Rob to drive me to Macy’s to do some clothes shopping. It took me about an hour. I hurriedly tried on lots of spring/summer clothing and got a bagful of things on sale.

Then we went to Padriac’s, a local bar with burgers, etc. We both got burgers and fries. He got a coke but I wanted coffee. We lingered a while talking about the war, the upcoming Jan. 6 commission and a few other things.

Now I am back home. The neighbor across the creek is noisily using his wood chipper. He and his wife redid their entire home about five years ago and it is very beautiful. They are obsessed with their yard. They have built a koi pond and a fire pit and put some twinkly lights on some bushes.

I am priming myself to get ready for my dental implant on April 1. I figure I will have to baby myself for at least a week or so. I, of course, dread the surgery. I have to quit drinking or eating 8 hours ahead of time. My appointment is at 11:20 Friday after next. Wish me luck.

Everyone’s mind is on Ukraine. They have unbelievable support all across the world. Some are comparing its siege by Putin to World War II. I was born during that time and I remember the family talking about rationing meat, sugar, etc.

I hope it doesn’t take much power away from the January hearings, as Trump deserves to be convicted. We can only hope!

I am having trouble with the new Facebook format already. All I do there now is put a link to my website there. I also use it to check on some friends’ pages.

I don’t foresee myself letting my website go if you guys continue to find my writing valuable and I hope you do.

  1. Thank Goodness for your delightful day. We appreciate uneventful days more than ever, I feel. You definitely have my wish for good luck on your dental implant day!! One thing we already know, you’ll be grateful when that all passes. I am not a fan of FACEBOOK; however, I am very, very grateful to have found you, your blog and such honest, intelligent writing of that which is the most important subject in our lives. Keep on — as we shall in return.
    Peace and love, dear Vicki.

  2. Of course your writing is valuable, it’s essential! We need your voice Vicki to call out the bs, to speak honestly and share the truth as you know it, to help us understand difficult concepts that are basically simple and to introduce some new thoughts we hadn’t considered. In this currently unbalanced time, your wise words are a welcomed gift to the world. Thank you and please keep writing.

If the current trajectory of Putin’s invasion doesn’t shift, the words World War could become fact. My father was a WWll vet and I heard his views and memories of that horrific time in world history. I shudder to think of a future like that ramped up with nuclear weapons. I do agree that much focus should be on the January 6 hearings. The truth needs to be displayed in its entierty and then justice must be met out to the guilty. I for one, would breath a sigh of relief and just maybe some eyes would be open and a much needed healing could occur. If only….

Love the photo on this blog!! Peaceful and serine. And yay for your lovely day!! Lots o’ luck for your surgery. Yes, baby yourself and then cruise through it. Have yourself a nice treat when it’s all said and done.

    Enjoy your evening friend,
    Tami

    1. I feel the world already will not be the same. The millions of refugees will have to be housed, clothed and fed. We can only imagine their state of shock; that will go on for a long time.
Meanwhile, back in the U.S.A., MJG is giving out rifles to her supporters. I am not sure the U.S. will ever be able to resume logical governing. Why? Because the autocracy folks want to oust the Democratic Party and the democracy from which it sprung.
