When the soul is shattered….

When the soul is shattered, it turns to its inner knowing. What is that inner knowing, you might ask. The truth is its inner knowing; it cannot be lost, just buried under the rubble of your private thoughts about survival. The ego runs on survival energy.

We are all being slammed by the murderous behavior of Putin. We know that the blood will continue to run in the streets of Ukraine. President Zelenskyy is the hero of our times. We recognize in him what a true savior might behave like. He has honest vibes and does his best to protect his beloved Ukraine. Whether or not he will succeed is anybody’s guess.

In our own country, we have the murderous Donald Trump. He ignored the pandemic to our country’s peril, thus many Americans died on his watch. When he lost his bid for the Presidency, he began at once to claim that the election was rigged. And guess what? Our school boards are now being taken over by Republican autocrats. Yes, let us call them what they are. They have no dignity and no decency.

The planet is going under. Sea levels are rising, along with the rise of world-wide autocracy. As Leonard Cohen said, “You won’t like what comes after America.” He now sleeps peacefully beside his family in the cemetery but his memory will never die. He was a prophet of love.

Evil is on the ascendancy; good people are being lied to and sadly, they fall victim to the lies. Goodness is too timid to rise up and fight dirty, so the meanest rule the meekest, and not in a good way.

There are many voices crying in the wilderness of war. Death is real and grief is insurmountable. Nothing good happens when innocent people die in the name of freedom.

Perhaps it is time to say, “Our Mother who art in heaven.” Certainly, female energy is the opposite of warlike.

I will end this with the Kwan Yin vow, decidedly female in nature. “I vow to relieve the suffering of all sentient beings.”

Be silent and observant of your thoughts. Weed out the evil you find there and return to your true nature.

  1. Your essay reminds me of the yearly chore of spring cleaning. You know when it’s time to sweep the cobwebs away and declutter your space. At times excuses are used to avoid this “work”. The ego reaches out and grabs onto the unintentional thoughts that flitter through the mind and hoards them. Before long, space for focused thoughts becomes limited and littered. So we sleep on amid the debris and let the cobwebs grow. Time to roll up our sleeves and do what we must.

Thank you Vicki for spurring me on to get busy.

    Peace and love,
    Tami
