Living a Spiritual Life

It is ridiculously easy to live a spiritual life. All you have to do is witness your actual condition. Oh, wait a minute. The only thing ridiculous is me!

You see, my actual condition must hide out in the shadows when I am out and about in the world. Or when I am with friends or enemies or bosses or well, anybody.

There is a shadow world and there is a real one. Jesus taught about this and his words are just as apt today as they were then.

He wanted his followers to wake up, come out of the shadows and live authentically. But it is impossible to do so without being conscious. You see, the shadow life is mechanical; it is a garment we put on to pass as normal.

Study the New Testament or eastern teachings; truth arises everywhere when you set yourself the task of awakening. This world is not only a dream; it is a nightmare.

If you manage to wake up a few times on and off during the day, you have ripped aside the veil between you and God. You see, the veil is your ego’s defense mechanisms, which will inevitably fail. It is then that the prayer, “God help me right now” is uttered and for a moment you see clearly.

Love is conscious; fear is mechanical. “Fear not, little flock, for it is the Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.”

A Thanksgiving toast to awakening from the dream. Then dessert is ambrosial.

  1. Cheers to your toast Vicki! And at this point, let’s get to the desert! You have some excellent one-liners in this esssy that aren’t necessarily supposed to be amusing, rather they purposely tell it like it is. Referring to this world as a dream, a nightmare…now that feels true! This unconscious life seems like a computer simulation or hologram or even an old fashioned marionette stage performance. It is what it is in the here and now, but those sparingly, devine moments when the veil is torn…they are precious and vital like the air we breathe.

Well soldier on my dear friend and savor those special moments, especially the moments that contain desert, lol!

    In gratitude,
    Tami

    1. Rob and I are both sensitives and introverts, so the gratitude arises AFTER the stage performance 🙂 Cheers to you, dear Tami! Let us lift a glass of consciousness, which is another word for love.
