When You Are In a State of Surrender

We long for light and struggle to find it anywhere outside of ourselves. That is the first wrong move!

The second wrong move is to fall into self-pity and self-blaming.

The third wrong move is to fall into pitying others and blaming them.

Three wrong moves is enough for now.

Silence is ready, willing and able to cancel all 3 of these states. Sadly, we are not ready, although silence is.

In the center of your sorrow the light flickers and something in you recognizes that it is coming from within.

It won’t stay long and you can’t capture it in a jar like a firefly. You can only know that this is the case.

Your social life is non-existent and that is a good thing. It kept you chained to falseness. Now your rare meetings with worldly people are just something to enjoy, not endure.

Jesus talks about our joy being full. This happens when we sit quietly and breathe.

His words begin to work their magic. “Your home is elsewhere.” Elsewhere indeed, if elsewhere is right where you are when you are in a state of surrender. Selah.

  1. Why is it we continually fight against something that should be so easy to do? When I finally remember to just “surrender “, relief immediately washes over me. It can’t be a surface surrender, but a deep core surrender.

Thank you Vicki for writing so wonderfully about this today.

    Peace friend,

    1. We are all caught in this dilemma, even so-called enlightened people. I find myself wanting to be alone rather than with people. Why? Because your energy gets split and conflicted!
