Forgetting….

Forgetting….

The only problem I face is forgetting that I exist, but not as I “think” I do. Reality happens while I keep on inventing Vicki’s with endless problems requiring endless solutions.

The “I am” awareness we bring with us into this fallen world. Definitions do not alter this unblinking eye that we all are.

Like others, I have been staring down the barrel of a shotgun that is pointed by myself at myself. Ludicrous? Of course it is.

The eternal dilemma is how to remember that the mind should not be ruling our lives. In school we are praised for being smart, for getting good grades, etc. Once launched into the world of commerce, etc. we realize that good grades won’t put food on the table. Oy.

I am grateful for the reminders of how to live simply from day to day. All we have to do is remember that we are the essential “I am.”

This worldly life is filled with obstacles to overcome and we are the obstacles, just as we are the “I am” that must meet them.

This has been a circular essay thrown out onto the lawn of listening minds. Don’t forget to wipe your feet before you come back inside.

  1. That constant, always re-occurring forgetting and (thankfully!!) remembering is ever present. We do realize that the forgetting is automatic and our usual state. It takes a lot of prodding of ourselves and that nudge from our higher self within that brings us to the remembering state. It’s not actually possible for us to control the uncontrollable mind and ego. I believe it’s good to remember the wonderful, old adage…..”Let go and let God.” We are then giving our burden to the One who is able to carry it. I feel a weight lifted already. Good morning and thank you, dear Vicki.

    1. Vernon said to study evil and good in good measure, and we know which camp the ego is in! I, too, am sitting this morning, feeling the ease of enlightenment (the I am awareness).
