The Need to Stay Grounded

Mother Earth is weeping these days, to speak metaphorically. It seems her inhabitants have done too little too late; we are all responsible for the flooding and record-setting temperatures occurring all over the globe.

Like all of you, I tend to have periods of sanity interspersed with periods of erupting emotions. Everyone knows, deep down, that there is no earthly solution to these ecological problems. We have tried that and it feels too late for them to work.

We people of earth have lost touch with character-building and how vital that is to the planet. For without strongly principled people, the disasters will continue to unfold. The Covid epidemic caused death on a massive scale and it continues to spread. No one person can turn anything around, but it is important to do your inner work. Vernon Howard told the story of how people of good intention poured a cup of clear water into a poisoned lake every day. The Great Salt Lake may be dying, so we need to keep pouring our water on a daily basis.

Everything happening is metaphorical; the ark builders are working 24/7. In the Work, the ark represents a place for the teachings to be safe until the world can start all over again. Things are cyclical and the worse things get, the better our work should be. Should the world be wiped out, there will be silence for a while and then activity will begin again.

I have sheltered in the ark twice this lifetime, when child and husband died. I have learned that writing is my way of pouring clear water into the poisoned lake of my emotions. Grief is absolutely necessary or everything will come to a dead stop.

Each of us is a small world connected to other small worlds. As we experience visible signs of the flood, let us stay grounded by our daily intention to wake up for brief periods during the day. The light will shine in darkness and step by step we will open up the way home. This home is within; it is the pearl of great price; it is the prescription for every human evil.

This essay should not be taken literally, should it?

  1. Yes, literally Vicki, and in every other way. Our lives and souls depend on it. Character building and good morals are on the downswing for much of the masses as of late. It will take good inner and outer attentions by good willed humans to right the ship. Hoping for hopes sake🤞🙏.

Keep the tap on dear Vicki…keep the clear eater flowing.

    Peace,
    Tami

    1. It must start within. I notice when I have been away from myself for too long. I have been wandering in the wilderness of the mind and have become of no use to anyone, least of all, myself.
I catch myself and start all over again. This is how we wake up and the masses want cakes and ale.
