Fasten Your Seat Belts, Folks

I know you guys are a lot like me; in fact, you are exactly like me. Made in the image of God. Of course that sounds all new age-ish and old-fashioned at the same time. We tend to skip over simple facts and spend years exploring bookstores for answers to the secret to life. I have wasted time and money searching for myself, giggle. (She’s the one who is trying to hide her tummy by holding it in.)

Be that as it may, we are all searching for God out there somewhere. He must be speaking in code or we would have discovered truth by now. We have all looked to men in orange or white seated on a dais with a vase of flowers nearby. We are supposed to pay homage, are we not?

I have paid my dues to enough bookstores to buy myself a luxurious padded cell. But I am so crazy that today I am willing to tell you the truth: You are inside and not outside! That is why they locked me up; I told the truth and that gets people to thinking that you are crazy.

Let me repeat: You are inside of yourself and you have the answer to the secret of life. Shhhhh. Close your eyes, go inside and………aw, you fell asleep again!

  1. You tickled my funny bone today Vicki😄! This essay is filled to the brim with truth. Some sentences are very cleverly disguised, hence the chuckles😁.

I dig around inside myself searching for the “answer “. Sometimes I think of my inner work as emptying out the closet. A box of cherished memories. That missing tennis racket. My favorite spring jacket. A small tote of childhood trauma. One large duffel bag of mistakes. A mid-size suit case of regrets. My daily brief case of to-do’s. A bag of dreams, dusty and faded, but still vibrant. And after some time of shuffling through the inner closet, I just sit in the dark and wait….and listen. Every once in a while a muffled “answer” is whispered. Then I try to hold fast to what may have been revealed.

Thank you for making me think today and definitely thanks for the humor!👍😊
    Peace to you V,

    1. I cracked myself up with the last line! Right on the brink we teeter, sometimes nearer, sometimes farther; but mainly we fall asleep.

Your writing is very creative, Tami; what you said reminds me of the book “Knitting,” which we have talked about before. The character
that carried her mistakes around with her, getting some sort of weird benefit to doing so.

But back to the answer: It IS inside and we DO fall asleep rather than do anything else. Our power, our energy, is quickly burned up and
      we sleep happily on.
