Try Being Exactly Who You Are

“Try being exactly who you are.” ~Vernon Howard

I have been trying to become who I am for decades. There is a deep sense of irony in this, because we are doing the opposite. We have areas in which we are holding out, holding on to harmful behaviors because we fear that if we stopped, no one would love us.

BREAKING NEWS: Sleeping people cannot love anyone but themselves.

There will always be obstacles to your awakening, but they are within you, not outside of you.

I have written about this over and over. After Vernon’s death, I had a dream about him. In it, he said this to me: “Don’t be so accommodating. Act a little tough.”

In my natural state I am powerful and whole. And so are you. And so is everyone else. So what if strong personalities clash? Personalities are acquired and therefore can never be real.

Jesus said some strong, hard words to those with ears to hear. “Let not your heart be troubled. Neither let it be afraid.” He, who was tempted by the devil, overcame fear and thereby became Who He was before the foundation of the world.

If you read the New Testament consciously, you will realize that the Christ Consciousness is within everyone that awakens to it.

Born-agains Christians are only born-again on the mental level. They come off as grating to the ears that can truly hear how self-righteous they sound. They have not understood that the Christ Consciousness is already within every man born of woman. But few can understand that there is no reason to go around proclaiming that you have been born again. Let the churches perpetuate that belief. Christ had no church, as we know. He knew it was one by one that we come to have ears that ear.

Try being exactly who you are. You will find immediate peace. These promises are eternally fulfilled by Him that became the Way, the Truth and the Life.

  1. This came at the perfect time. I have been spending a month with my mom, and she told me this morning that she, her four brothers and her father all have some form of Asperger’s. It has been kept quiet for decades, as her generation perceived it as being unable to cope with life rather than sn actual dx. Mom is 78 and this is the first time she’s told anyone.

I can’t explain in words what this has done for me. It feels like I’ve gotten a huge piece of my own puzzle back. I am 53 and realizing for the first time that I might not be crazy after all.

    1. I am the same age as your mom and my son is the same age that you are. All I can say is that everyone is playing hurt, concealing their deepest fears and anxieties. This can be witnessed without reaction and the spell can then be broken. It sounds like this is why you came to help your mother, so that both of you might experience the light of awareness. Then it can all be let go, as time is an illusion. We are all waiting for our moment of real truth. God bless you.

  2. I had a coincidence of events hit me on Monday night that basically assaulted me with the message, “why are you resisting? Relax, surrender, be what you know you are.” And now this blog post! I need to sit and be quiet for a bit.
