Your Peace Is Changing the World

Are you looking in the wrong place for peace? I must be looking in the wrong place because I am not currently experiencing peace. I am experiencing edginess about what to do to experience peace. This is a common daily dilemma for everyone.

You may be rich or blessed with a large loving family, but you probably cannot choose peace by a click of your fingers. Instead you are feeling unloved, unwanted and unimportant. What to do?

l. Sit with the unrest as long as you can and that will probably not be long.

2. Get up and do the next thing that needs doing, regardless of how it makes you feel. I got up and did something very small. I readjusted some books between bookends.

4. That action did not bring me peace, so action is not the answer.

5. Ask yourself again, am I looking in the wrong place for peace? This time, listen to the outside world and its noises. I hear the washer running. Changing the focus of my attention to the washer helped.

6. Am I looking to other people to change so I can know peace. You KNOW the answer to that.

7. You cannot click your fingers and expect a genie to grant you peace.

8. You should not be looking for peace at all, for you are peace itself. Ah, I see something I hadn’t noticed before. I have not given myself the authority to be peace itself.

9. Know that your true nature is peace regardless of how you are currently feeling. Feelings are volatile and peace is not.

10. Know that your peace is changing the world, not by what you do but by what you are.

Namaste.
