Bringing the Opposites Together

Bringing the Opposites Together

It’s Thanksgiving here in the U.S. Why not bring the opposites together and have them sit at one table? The relatives that hate each other and the friends we oppose politically. I am going to tell you how to do this. Lean in real close and I will tell you. Shhhh. Keep it under your hat.

Are you ready? The table is the one in your head. It is already prepared. Remember the Twenty Third Psalm? “Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies.” That is where you bring the opposites together. You can’t do it on your own. You must be humble enough to admit this. And then the bliss will be experienced.

God is not asking you to love your enemies outside of yourself. That may come later, but at the beginning, you just love them at the table God has prepared for you. I am not speaking some unintelligible language. I am keepin’ it real!

Mysticism begins and ends within. As the Gospel of Thomas said, “The kingdom of God is spread upon the earth and men do not see it.” You, however, can feel it, can allow yourself to be humbled enough to say to God, “You win.” And everything changes.

If you don’t believe it, try it. And then have some pumpkin pie.

  1. Happy Thanksgiving, yes! And thanks are given; I met you online today, Thanksgiving Day. There comes a time to stop reading “the” books, and a time when questions do not arrive to the level of speech or asking, even with one’s teacher. Then one lives as one lives, day to day in timeless time, in stillness, with “This” being always present, as long as one remembers to pay attention, lol. Listening to, feeling with you (a gift of course) was very helpful tonight. There is gratitude, and I wished to tell you 🙂 Thank you.

    1. How lovely of you to let me know you met my writing today. And I thank you for that. There is boundless attention to be paid to just about anything. Nothing to do but be.
And yet hard work goes into much being. The yin and the yang of it all working together for good.
