When Do I Get Mine?

“When do I get mine?” Is a wonderful question to pose to yourself. I daresay if you say it out loud to someone, you will definitely “get yours,” and you won’t like it at all!

You know the game is rigged— yet you play anyway, don’t you? You play because you were taught to work and play well with others. I remember when I was in grade school that one of the minus marks I got was beside a choice that said: “Works and plays well with others.” I must have known something even as a child.

Yes, I did. What I knew was that I didn’t want to go along with what was expected of me. I was expected to enjoy recess and I was much too shy to do that. I actually remember putting my hands through a chain link fence as the teacher tried to pry them loose so I could go enjoy myself. What a joke.

Now that we are all grown up, we still haven’t gotten ours and we never will. The game is rigged. The first talk I ever heard Vernon Howard give was one in which he thundered, “Never blame the con man. You are being conned in weirder ways than you think.” He was a hundred and one percent against “being nice in order to fit in.” He knew that fitting in is a thankless and endless task the ego tries to fulfill.

Egos desperately want theirs and it is always out of reach. The con is on.

So what do you do when you see that you are in a social trap and can’t get out without a penalty? First of all, you will squirm, get mad, get resentful. But you won’t be able to leave the game. You were born into it and you will die in it. But don’t be discouraged. It is supremely good to see the bad, as Vernon also said.

Here is my solution. Do what you love to do. In my case I love to study truth. The world doesn’t want truth; it wants solutions. Tell me another joke. If you are still involved in politics, you will never leave the game. You are too invested in being self-righteous. You tell people that those in power suck. Breaking News: Those not in power suck, too!

So here’s the deal. Know that the world is everything Jesus said it was and more. Believe Him. Believe esoteric Christianity when it says that there is only One and we are all it. That is when we truly “Get Ours.”
