Hope is Suffering in Disguise

I was having a conversation with Silvia A. Ramos about people’s deep desire to be awakened by someone, not admitting that the awakener is probably not awakened at all.

Silvia A. Ramos:

People feel attracted to what offers them hope, not knowing that hope is just suffering in disguise.

Vicki Woodyard:

So true and how rare it is for people to deeply see this. They really think that there are enlightened teachers who can erase negative emotions for others.

Silvia A. Ramos:

It is very hard to not feel the need and, therefore, the hope to “feel better.” It is based on the belief that there is something different from what is real, an alternative reality where they can and will be happy by doing this or that.

Vicki Woodyard:

Agreed. They want the “One step forward” without “The Two Steps Back.”

And so the dance goes on….when you finally sit it out, you just might learn something the dance cannot teach you. That you are seeking distraction and not higher healing!

Thanks to Silvia A. Ramos for this brief interchange.
