A Measure of Peace

My brother and sister and I are looking at a few old photos online. Here is one of my daughter, Laurie. May she rest in peace. She died at the end of first grade. Actually she didn’t make it the last six weeks. She left us on a hot July day in 1978.

My son and I will always live life with a hole in it, as the title of my first book said. It is just the way things are.

Out of this life of sorrow has come a measure of peace that I would not have had without all the thorns.

Laurie is an eternal force for good.

Hallelujah.
