Oh, I know you are not going to admit it, but your greatest fear is that no one wants you around. How do I know that? Because it is my greatest fear. It is a primitive fear. Can you make it a conscious knowing? And would that change your life?
I talk so much about being an introvert because it gives me an excuse to not go deeply into the question, “Does anybody want me around?” And of course this question works both ways, “Do I care if anyone is around?” You see, the ego is a toxic substance that nobody wants around. It also lies about everything. So we are caught in an ongoing delusional state in which everyone lies to everyone else.
If they told the truth, life as we know it would unravel. We would stand alone knowing that human beings, as they are, don’t want other human beings around.
Then why the pretense? Because that is the nature of ego. As Vernon Howard said, “We are skilled actresses and actors.” Before that, Shakespeare told us that truth. We are on stage when we are with others, even our families.
There is no solution to this dilemma, but there is no solution to any metaphysical dilemma except to know it in your heart. Once you know what your heart has always told you, something interesting can happen. You can choose to want yourself around!
Does that mean there are two of you? No, because consciousness is singular. We are the One. And the One doesn’t need a second.
My essays meander and amble through various states of mind and consciousness and this is what came up for me tonight.
Sleep well.

Ah yes! Quite a potent realization. Thank you. Now I can let that one rip!
Yes, we are going deep.
