Why You Should Donate to my Website

Here’s the thing. I am an old-fashioned essayist. It seems like there are few of us online, blogging or on Facebook. I don’t cut and paste. I write from the heart and it is original material.

I was having a cup of coffee when a friend knocked at the door. My next-door-neighbor wanted to show me the yard work they had been doing. She hadn’t been to my house before, so she sat down and visited for a bit. Then we walked over to her house. Her husband is an artist and their home is lovely.

In their den, they have a wonderful collection of old vinyl records. I said, “I have just started to read a book called “The Music Shop” by Rachel Joyce. It’s about a man who is in love with vinyl and can find just the right music for each customer. People listen to what he chooses for them and they relax, feel better about themselves and their lives.”

My writing is like that. Original and battered by years of emotional storms that have threatened to carry me off. Stranded on sandbars of loneliness, I have nevertheless written while I waited for the tide to come back in. I am a survivor.

A few people have donated to the website and received a copy of my new ebook, “The Edge of Enlightenment.” It is not a marketing gambit but a genuine book. I honed the material down to book-size and guess what. One size fits all—at least I hope so.

I touch on the particulars of my life and thus tap into universal truths about surviving emotionally when your heart is broken. I don’t discuss my life; I share it. When you meander through my words, you feel better. I don’t know how this works and don’t want to.

Please do me a favor and visit vickiwoodyard.com. Consider making a donation and I will send you the ebook. This is not a gimmick but an effort to realize a profit on the book versus giving it to a publisher and/or amazon. It relieves me of all marketing pressure, too. I am too old for that.

If you dislike the book, I will refund your money, honest to God. But like the man running the music shop, I do it for love.

“The Edge of Enlightenment is available here.

“If you are interested in reading enlightened and deeply honest words, The Edge of Enlightenment is for you. Vicki Woodyard is amazing!”
