Vernon Howard taught us how to experience life directly without blaming ourselves or other people. Not that he liked us! Far from it. He said he wanted nothing to do with us as we were.

He saw no evidence that a single one of us had become enlightened. He never explained enlightenment, either. It’s that direct experience thing again.

Now me, I am not as direct as Vernon. I keep going to hell indirectly. How? By taking thought about my problems, as I said before.

That is the only hell I know. And knowing that is heaven. That part is alchemical.
