You have nothing in this world that cannot be taken away from you. Vernon Howard kept showing and telling us that. We knew he spoke the truth and yet it was a truth that the ego could not abide.

The Christ Consciousness is not content with acquiring earthly goods. It wants our freedom and will do what it takes to assure it.

You can stop believing in anything the media says and that includes social media. Twitter and Facebook and all of those that are tempting you to take part in a fallen world are succeeding. You think that is too much? That I am going too far? My ego does. It wants me to be content with crumbs when I could have the whole feast.

Vernon often alluded to us eating the husks when we could have the true food. But we just didn’t want to listen. We attended his classes and kept up the hustle when we weren’t around him.

What is the nature of the hustle? It is as old as time. It believes in youth, beauty, fast cars, quick money and everything that shores up your shaky self-image.

What happens if you try and leave the stage? Every negativity you carry will rise up and start thinking negative thoughts. “You owe them. They need you. If you leave, people will suffer.”

And Jesus told us to shake the dust off our feet.

A few Indian sages said the same thing. Truth is always available to the few. The masses are not candidates for escaping. Awakening takes energy and force. We have to save it for that. Instead we spend it on trifles.

Well, that is my message for today and for all days.
